E-scooters are currently illegal for use on public roads, unless part of an approved scheme, but are allowed on private grounds, such as the royal family's home of Windsor Castle and estate.
William, 41, has been using the scooter to quickly get around the estate, which is home to a number of royal residences including Adelaide Cottage where William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their three children reside.
A source told The Sun: "It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King." They added: “It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.” The report comes after a rift was rumoured to have formed between William and his father after King Charles was left “miffed” with his son's decision that he should pay to stay in the Welsh holiday home he bought for £1.2 million.
