Prince William and Kate Middleton are not expected to attend the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday. Kensington Palace confirmed Monday that the Prince and Princess of Wales would not attend the BAFTAs ceremony at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London.
Although the royal couple will not be in person, Prince William is expected to pre-record an appearance, which will be showcased at the star-studded event.
The future king of England has been the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010 and is set to visit the London Screen Academy on Wednesday.
William made an in-person appearance at the 2024 gala by himself shortly after it was announced Middleton had undergone surgery before revealing she was undergoing cancer treatment the next month.
