They made their first public appearance together since 2020 on Saturday and it has now emerged that the Prince of Wales "invited" the Sussexes to join him and the Princess of Wales in their afternoon walkabout at Windsor.
William and Kate and Harry and Meghan greeted mourners outside the castle who were there to pay respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away this week.
They accepted floral tributes and shook the hands of many members of the public in moving scenes this afternoon. And William's spokesperson has confirmed it was the Prince of Wales who invited his brother and sister-in-law to get involved in the public appearance, reports the Mirror.
While royal reporter Omid Scobie, who famously wrote the book Finding Freedom about Harry and Meghan, also commented on the reunion between the brothers, claiming the invitation was extended at the "eleventh hour". "The Waleses has always been scheduled to greet well-wishers at Windsor Castle," he tweeted. "But royal sources say the decision to invite the Sussexes was made in the eleventh hour.
