Prince of Wales unveils three year commitment to tackling youth violence in Manchester

Prince William has announced a three year commitment to tackle youth violence and improve opportunities for young people in Manchester.

Joining forces with mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, The Royal Foundation has unveiled £100,000 in funding to support the work of community initiatives in the city.

The money will go to helping the Manchester Peace Together Alliance in creating a programme specifically for employment, skills and training for young people.

Speaking exclusively to the Manchester Evening News while visiting youth projects in Moss Side on Thursday, the Prince of Wales said 'ensuring young people get the best start in life' is something he 'cares passionately about'.
