Prince Harry texted Prince William hours before Queen's death – but 'never heard back'

Prince Harry reportedly sent a text to his brother Prince William during the Queen's final days, but didn't receive a reply.The Duke of Sussex and wife Meghan Markle were in London when King Charles, then still a prince, called his youngest son to inform him that Queen Elizabeth II was unwell.

However, Harry almost missed the call as it came from an unknown number. Royal author Craig Brown writes in his book Voyage Around the Queen that Charles told Harry "Granny's health has taken a turn".

Following this, Harry texted William to ask if he and Kate were planning to go to Balmoral to be with the Queen. According to Brown, there was no response.

Harry also mentioned this incident in his memoir Spare, writing: "I immediately texted Willy to ask whether he and Kate were flying up.
