He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry's surprising response to being pushed down royal line of succession

Prince Harry had a very sweet response to changing position in the line of succession to the throne. In 1984 when he was born, he was third in line after his dad, now King Charles, and older brother Prince William.

When William and Kate started their family in 2013 with Prince George, Harry charmingly stepped back in line, reports Express.

In 2015, Princess Kate gave birth to Princess Charlotte, moving Harry further down again. When asked about this during a 2017 interview, his response melted hearts.

Speaking to Royal expert Angela Levin, Harry said: "The reason I am now fifth is because of my nephew and niece and I could never wish them away.They are the most amazing things ever." In 2018, William and Kate welcomed Prince Louis, pushing Harry back even further.
