Next week, Meghan Markle will celebrate her 42nd birthday and her husband Prince Harry, and their two children Archie and Lilibet, are sure to make her day extra special.

Meghan and Harry decided to step back from their Royal duties in 2020, however, Harry still remains a prince, which means Meghan can probably expect some lavish gifts.

Over the years, Harry has purchased some expensive gifts for his wife as well as giving her some sentimental pieces, including jewellery that belonged to his late mother, Princess Diana, writes The Mirror.We take a look back at some of the expensive presents Harry has given Meghan during their time together.According to reports, during the early days of their relationship Harry arranged some very thoughtful gifts when the pair were just dating.Among them was a Cartier Love Bracelet, which Meghan wore for several royal engagements.It's also said that the Duke also spent a pretty penny painting by Van Donna, titled Everybody Needs Somebody to Love.When their relationship got a little more serious, Harry gifted Meghan a Maya Brenner necklace featuring the letters M and H.Meghan seemed to adore the piece of jewellery and was spotted wearing it during days out in London, however the $300 14-carat gold chain ended up causing a row with royal aides and saw her get a call from Kensington Palace as it 'attracted press'.

In their biography Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claim that Meghan was advised by an aide not to wear this sort of personalised jewellery, saying it would only encourage the press.
