Prince Harry's recent decision to snub a royal residence during his London visit left King Charles feeling "blindsided", according to a royal expert.Harry was in the UK earlier this month to attend a special ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.Reports had previously suggested that the King was aware his youngest son didn't have a base in the UK and had offered him accommodation at one of the royal residences. However, Harry reportedly declined this offer, instead opting for a stay at a Mayfair hotel "without protection".Upon discovering that Harry hadn't accepted his offer, the King reportedly felt "blindsided" by his youngest son's decision, the Express reports.
Speaking to the Mirror, Royal expert Ingrid Seward said: "When Prince Harry turned down his father's offer to stay at a royal residence during his three-day trip to London in May, it was a surprise to the royal household.
