Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
There's one specific drink that Prince Charles enjoys every evening before tucking into his dinner, according to one of his friends.
Charles' close pal Count Tibor Kalnoky appeared in new Channel 4 series The Real Windsors: The Outspoken Heir and revealed all about the royal's routine, after Charles travelled to visit him in Viscri, Transylvania many years ago. There was one drink the 73 year old would enjoy "every night" while visiting the Eastern European country, where he eventually decided to buy small countryside house. "He likes a martini before dinner, that's for sure," Count Tibor, who helped Charles find the perfect home in Transylvania, explained.
Opening up about his encounter with the future king of England, he went on to explain: "Prince Charles discovered this very unique corner of Europe and has been coming to this place every year." "I showed him the place and he said it was everything he had been looking for.
We spent some time renovating the whole thing," Count Tibor added. Prince Charles purchased an 18-century house in Viscri after visiting Count Tibor, and a few years ago he turned it into a guest house.
