Primark shoppers 'disgusted by new nightmare change at check-out that makes queues longer'

Primark has added a new security measure when shoppers check their items out at tills - and it has left some people angry. The budget retailer is cracking down on theft in some of their stores by sealing up its paper carrier bags with blue ‘sold’ stickers.

The new security tactic will be trialled in several Primark stores across the UK, and bosses will be “monitoring” its impact.

A spokesperson for Primark has said: "Antisocial behaviour and retail crime is rising right across the retail industry and we’re working with other retailers and organisations to help tackle this. "We have a range of security measures in place in our stores and we’re now also trialling some new measures to help prevent stock loss, which includes sealing bags with ‘Sold’ stickers once a customer pays for their items at the tills. As it is a security measure, the spokesperson added Primark would not be disclosing which of their stores are trialling the scheme .

However Primark shoppers have been quick to react to the new feature, with many claiming it is "wasteful" and "makes queues longer." Theresa wrote on social media site X, saying: "@Primark went to your Luton store today.
