Predator who kidnapped teen outside nightclub hunted down by her father

A man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a teen girl was arrested after being tracked down by her father. Attacker Michael Owen spotted the 16-year-old girl sitting outside a Leigh nightclub at 5am on March 13, 2022.

He walked over to the girl, who was drunk, and helped her stand up before hailing a taxi. The 34-year-old then gave the driver his home address on Bridgewater Street in Hindley, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Afterwards, the girl said she woke up partially clothed in Owen's bed and started screaming that she wanted to go home, to which he replied that he was just looking after her.

Giving evidence to Manchester Crown Court via video link, the victim said her memory of the incident was fuzzy, but that she could recall someone banging on the front door.
