Post Office to reopen after more than two years away from Ayrshire village

An Ayrshire village is set to get its Post Office back — more than two years after it closed.Springside Post Office in Irvine ceased operating in August 2020 when the Postmaster resigned.Now it is poised to reopen at its original location — the Day-Today store in Main Road, Springside — with a new Postmaster in place.Services will be restored and available seven days a week from Monday, November 14 at 1pm.Opening hours will be Monday to Friday: 9am to 7pm; Saturday: 9am to 2pm and Sunday: 9am to 1pm.Scott Hamilton, Post Office Network Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Springside as we know how important a Post Office is to a community."The opening hours will also make it very convenient to visit.”For the latest news and breaking news visit our website.
