There’s a lost Post Malone and Bob Dylan collaboration! Hip-hop producer Michael Cash had the idea years ago to have the 28-year-old rapper and singer record a song by the 82-year-old singer-songwriter.
To sell the pitch, he sent Bob‘s longtime representative, Jeff Rosen, a photo of the Bob tattoo on Post‘s left bicep and also Post‘s cover of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” Bob ultimately said yes to the project and sent lyrics to a song he wrote for it called “Be Not Deceived.” Keep reading to find out more… “It was talking about a loss of innocence,” Michael told Rolling Stone about the song. “And what people are going through — disfranchised, kind of leaderless masses of children with no parent or guardian or shepherd or anything.
It talked about going out and making your own way. And when you read it, honestly, it’s poetry. It’s beautiful.” Apparently, Post even shed tears when he heard the lyrics.
In March 2021, Post recorded the song at Michael‘s studio. They laid down some of the track, but it remains unfinished.
