A fan group for Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers have raised concerns about the franchise potentially appointing Phil Neville as their manager due to a 'history of sexist public statements'.
The former Manchester United and England defender has been tipped to fill the Portland vacancy having been sacked by Inter Miami last season.
Neville, 46, managed England Women between 2018 and 2021 and he's currently working as an assistant coach for the Canada men's national team.
Neville apologised in 2018 when he was appointed by England Women in response to controversial, historic social media posts the ex-Premier League man made about women.
