Aldi shoppers are being warned over a popular bakery item that is "unsafe" for consumption and should be returned to stores.A food alert posted by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has explained to customers that Signature Flatbreads has issued a recall for its Village Bakery 8 Tortilla Wraps White.
The firm has said the move is a precautionary measure.Food alerts are generally posted to the FSA if a product poses a risk to consumers.
In this instance, the tortilla wraps were found to potentially contain the presence of metal after they "may have been tampered with".The recall affects those with a pack size of 8x62kg, with dates up to and including April 29 2024.
So far, no other batches or Aldi products have been affected by the potential concern. As the possible presence of metal makes the tortilla wraps unsafe to eat, customers are being urged to return them to their nearest Aldi store.
