Police are warning motorists not to drive in 'red alert' areas during high winds on Friday as Storm Arwen sweeps across the country.
Eastern and northern parts of the country will be worst affected with the possibility of flying debris resulting in danger to life and serious risk of damage to buildings.
The Met Office has issued a total of five warnings in Scotland over the next two days for extreme weather as the storm takes hold.
