Police have sent a warning out to parents that children as young as 10 are gathering in large groups and throwing food and furniture around, as well as assaulting security guards, at a town centre McDonald's branch.

They are also said to be using 'disgusting' language with adults having to tell them off for this. In a post by Greater Manchester Police's Middleton team they warned parents that they will easily be able to identify any children causing problems at this spot.

Problems range from throwing furniture and food, assaulting security staff, and using bad language, as they 'feel confident' when in large groups.

Police say they have gathered CCTV footage from the spot, and that children will be identified through local schools. Any criminal complaints that have been reported are being investigated, the force said.
