Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Police warn against planned protest outside Celtic Park tonight

Celtic Park tonight. Pressure is mounting on boss Neil Lennon to quit the helms of the Premiership side and a poster for a demonstration by 'Celts for Change' outside Parkhead is circulating on social media.

The poster calls for the sacking of Lennon and asks people to wear face coverings and observe social distancing if they are attending at 6pm.

But Glasgow cops have issued a warning that the gathering would be 'prohibited' under coronavirus legislation and urged fans to find another way to protest.Superintendent Stevie Dolan, Greater Glasgow Division, warned that cops would use 'enforcement' to move on the crowd if needed.He said: "We are aware of a proposed demonstration outside Celtic Park tonight (Wed 25 November) and would urge.
