A 'large number' of police officers are currently carrying out "extensive" searches in an area of Tameside after a young girl was 'taken into the woods' by a stranger.
A number of reports were made to police following the incident in Droylsden just after 4pm this afternoon (Wednesday) which is now being treated as abduction,.
It is believed the seven-year-old girl was taken by a man on Warne Avenue into woods near the disused railway track heading towards Manchester Road, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. They currently have "a large number of officers in the area while extensive searches for the suspect take place" they added.
