Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracking down a man they would like to speak to in relation to a hate crime against a Jewish man at a supermarket in Bury.
Officers were called to reports of a suspected hate crime at the Asda store on Pilsworth Road in Pilsworth at around 1.10am on Thursday, March 3.
It is understood that a male victim was approached by an unknown male at the self-service checkout area. The offender then proceeded to snatch the victim’s kippah from his head.
Following this, the offender fled the store before running onto Pilsworth Road in the direction of the motorway. READ MORE: Woman issued fine after parking in her own car park Before the incident, officers were told the offender had been with two other males who left the scene in a taxi.
