Police urge driver to come forward as crash leaves pensioner, 78, in critical condition

Detectives are urging a driver to come forward after a pensioner was left in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Cheshire.

Police say the 78-year-old man was involved in a collision with a red Kia Ceed on Mill Street, near to Ableworld, in Congleton.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. In a statement issued today (December 12), Cheshire Police says the pedestrian's condition remains critical but stable, following the incident at around 11.38am on Wednesday, November 20.

No arrests have been made and the Kia driver was uninjured in the incident. Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are keen to speak to the driver of a blue Toyota Hilux, which was seen in the area at the time. READ MORE: "It was a mistake.
