Emergency services have launched a huge response after reports of a stabbing in Southport which has results in 'a number of casualties'.
Police first scrambled to the scene at around 11.50am on Monday to reports of a stabbing at a property on Hart Street. Armed police detained a man and a knife was seized.
No further information on the casualties has been released at this time, however, Merseyside Police have issued a brief statement. "At around 11.50am, we were called to a property on Hart Street to reports of a stabbing.
There are a number of reported casualties and more details will be confirmed when possible. Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife.
