Police have sealed off a large area near to Heald Avenue after reports that a man had been attacked at around 11.40am today.
A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Pictures from the scene show a residential street and a small park area cordoned off by police.
Their enquiries appear to be focused around a basketball court inside the park. Witnesses have described seeing a number of officers at the scene, with two police vans parked nearby.
