A police officer has been rushed to hospital and another injured following an incident in Glasgow. Authorities rushed to Kilmarnock Road, in the Shawlands area of the city, at around 1pm on Thursday, January 5, following reports of a man causing a 'disturbance.'A male and female officer were injured after responding to the incident.
The male officer was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
Locals have reported a 'heavy police presence' as well as a helicopter in the area.A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “We were made aware of a man causing a disturbance at 1pm on Thursday, 5 January 2023, at Kilmarnock Road in Glasgow.
Officers attended, and a male and female officer were injured as a result.
