Police officer dragged 40ft by car driven at him returned to duty same day

A police officer was dragged 40ft by a speeding car which drove at him as he tried to stop a vehicle in north London today. Met Police have said the officer was lucky to 'escape serious injury' after he was dragged along so fast the sole of his shoes tore off during the incident in Southgate at around 9.45am.

The Territorial Support Group officer was working in the area to support the local team when he became suspicious of the two occupants in the car and as he approached the vehicle it sped off dragging him with it.

The officer suffered minor bruises and grazes and was treated for his injuries at a police station. He also suffered from shock but bravely continued with his duties for the rest of the day. Did you witness the shocking
