Police looking into 'disturbance' caught on camera at Greater Manchester high school

Police say they are looking into video footage which appears to show a mum confronting a child at a school in Bury. Clips being shared on social media show an incicent which is said to have occured on the grounds of The Derby High School, in the Redvales area of the town, at around 3:30pm yesterday (Thursday).

In one clip the boy appears to fall to the ground as other pupils to crowd around. In a second piece of footage, the woman can be seen standing over as she shouts at him. At one point, she appears to move her hand towards him. The boy can be heard saying 'don't touch me' and she replies: "Don't touch me?

It's alright to touch my son? Is that alright?" Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have now confirmed they are aware of the footage and say that 'equiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances.' A spokesperson for the force said: "We are aware of video footage that is circulating online which shows a disturbance occurring at a school in Bury. "Enquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances and our School Liaison Officer has been, and will continue, to work closely with the school to ensure the necessary safeguarding measures are in place. "No arrests have been made at this stage." The school has been approached for comment.
