Police have launched an investigation after a series of hotel 'lift surfing' videos were posted on YouTube. Shared on a channel called RYEGI, the footage shows the inside of an elevator shaft and appears to have been filmed by someone sitting on top of the lift, said to be a Travelodge in Morecambe.

The footage was posted earlier this week and, at the time of writing, had been viewed 146 times, LancsLive reports. The YouTube channel describes the content as "Lift surfing, Skyscrapers, Urban Exploring and more." Lancashire Constabulary has confirmed it is investigating the Morecambe incident.

Enquiries are ongoing after damage was caused in the incident. Read more: Thug engraved vile insult onto ex's car and sent threatening voice notes after bad break-up In the video, the YouTuber appears to film himself riding the lift down whist the automated voice can be heard in the background.
