Ayrshire police are appealing for information following an attempted murder in the Longbar Avenue area of Beith.The incident happened around 4.15am on Monday when a fire was deliberately started outside the door of a property.A 33-year-old man was asleep inside at the time and had to jump out of an upstairs window.
