Police knew a German paedo was likely to be a suspect in Madeleine McCann's disappearance a year ago, according to a claim from the Portuguese detective who once led the case.

Police searching for Madeleine say they have identified a new suspect in the case and have revealed that suspect is a German prisoner who is known to have been around Praia da Luz at the time Maddie vanished.
