Police issue update after second day at the scene where a baby was found dead

Heartfelt thanks have been given to the public by police as the investigation into Baby A's death continues. The infant's remains were found by a dog walker at Ashtons Field, in Little Hulton, Salford, at around 12.30pm on Wednesday (November 21).

Officers have been at the scene ever since, with forensics investigators searching the area for evidence. Heartbroken locals have placed flowers, teddies and tributes down at the scene for Baby A today (Thursday).

A GMP officer also left a sympathy card for the baby this afternoon. In an update issued this evening, GMP has thanked the community for its support, while insisting the force will 'do everything it can to get answers'. The thoughts of everyone at GMP are with Baby A, and we will do everything we can to get answers. "We would like to thank the community for their tributes to Baby A and their support and compassion at this time.
