Police have issued CCTV footage after a brutal taxi rank attack. Officers from Cheshire Constabulary believe the person in the image may be able to help with their investigation into the incident, in Warrington.

Trouble erupted after the target of the assault, who had been waiting in a queue, appears to have entered a dispute with a group of men and women.

He was beaten up at the Abba taxi rank on Crown Street in Bewsey, Whitecross. The 41-year-old from Widnes was punched by one of the men in the group several times and fell to the ground.

He was assaulted again while helpless and suffered serious injuries to his leg and face. He was treated at Warrington Hospital and has since been discharged.
