Police are investigating reports of a serious sexual assault after a teenage girl was attacked in Midlothian.The force say that the 18-year old victim was targeted at Waverley Park Pavilion, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian at around 1.30am on Saturday, February 11.
Police Scotland have now launched a probe into the incident and say that they are 'following a positive line of enquiry.'Officers, including members of the forensics team, are believed to have been in the area since yesterday morning.A spokesperson for the police said: “We received a report that an 18-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted around 1.30am, near to Waverley Park Pavilion, Bonnyrigg, on Saturday, 11 February, 2023.“Enquiries are ongoing and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - sign up to our daily newsletter here .
