Police increasingly concerned for missing man, 56, who may be in 'distressed state'

Police are asking the public for help finding a vulnerable north Manchester man who could be travelling around the area by bus 'in distress'.

Greater Manchester Police says its officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of David Vernon, from Newton Heath.

The 56-year-old, who is originally from Oldham, was last seen on Troydale Drive in Newton Heath at around 12pm today (February 8). Police say David, a frequent bus passenger, does not have a phone with him and has no access to a car. Anyone with details about David's disappearance is urged to contact GMP as soon as possible.
