Greater Manchester Police have tracked down a man wanted for failure to appear at court after a traffic stop. The man's vehicle, a Vauxhall Zafira, was stopped by police on Bolton Road in Farnworth due to its brake lights being stuck on, police said in the early hours of Thursday (November 25).

After making enquiries, police discovered that the driver had failed to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on a serious assault charge.

The driver was also found to have no insurance or MOT. He was arrested and the car seized. Police are yet to confirm what charges he'll be facing and have not released his name.

Farnworth is just south of Bolton and a few miles north west of Manchester. For more stories from where you live, visit InYourArea.
