Police carrying out extensive search after Paisley attempted murder

Police are combing the streets and carrying out door-to-door enquiries after a man was seriously injured in an attempted murder bid.Officers have swarmed to the area of Ferguslie Park Avenue where the 43-year-old victim was found injured on Friday night.They have renewed appeals for members of the public who may have heard or seen anything to come forward and are also keen to speak to drivers with dashcams who might have picked up something on camera.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

Sign up to our newsletters here.Detective Inspector Gary Sergeant of Paisley Police Station renewed the police appeal for information.He said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.“We would also be keen to speak to any drivers who may have dashcam footage or anyone locally who may have private CCTV footage.”CID has secured the crime scene with officers carrying out door-to-door enquiries and combing the area for any evidence.

They are also checking CCTV footage.Detective Inspector John Aikman from Paisley CID added: “Any information from the community is essential in a case like this.“We have officers out on the ground just now speaking to as many people as they can for information to catch the perpetrator or perpetrators.”At around 9.40pm on Friday night, police received a report of a man with serious injuries near Ferguslie Park Avenue at the junction with Barochan Way.Emergency services attended and the 43-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
