Police car smashes into metal barrier and flips over on M62 with two officers in hospital

Two police officers are in hospital after a patrol car flipped over onto its side on the M62 on Tuesday afternoon (January 2).

Emergency services were called to the motorway, near J5 (Roby Road), at around 3pm following reports that a police car had crashed.

The vehicle was later discovered on its side on a grass embankment. Merseyside Police confirmed the car hit a metal barrier and that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
