Detectives are appealing for information following the assault of a man in Airdrie which saw him hospitalised with "serious" injuries.

At around 12.40pm on Sunday, May 26, police received a report of a man having been attacked by two men at a retail park in the Gartlea Road area of the town.

Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
