Piers Morgan has eviscerated Adele after the singer abruptly cancelled her Las Vegas residency hours before the first show was set to go ahead. The Easy On Me singer broke down in tears in a video on Thursday night, explaining that she was postponing the four-month residency due to her crew being struck down with Covid and other delays which meant the show wasn’t ready.
However, Piers, 56, believes it was in poor taste to leave the cancellation so last-minute and stated in his latest column for The Sun: ‘Frankly, it’s a disgrace.’ The former Good Morning Britain presenter branded the singer a ‘staggeringly rich, privileged, pampered prima donna’ for pulling the plug on the concerts without a great deal of notice for fans, many of who had flown into the States to attend.
He also claimed that Adele’s ‘ego’ is now earning a staggering amount of money that even her fans couldn’t ‘dream of cashing’.
According to Piers, it would have been acceptable if Adele sang a select number of songs even if the set design wasn’t ‘absolutely perfect’.
