A pickled scorpion in a jar was among the most bizarre items donated to Scots charity shops this year.Generous Scots have been ‘pulled up’ by Barnardo’s for some of the weirdest things they received during 2021.
The UK’s largest children’s charity has revealed a list of their most whacky and, frankly, useless items which Scots thought to get rid of over the last year.
A scorpion preserved in a jar of formaldehyde in St Andrews, in Scotland, which has since been given to the local university, topped the strangest donations.
However, Barnardo’s also revealed that a handbag, which was donated to a Glasgow store, had a set of false teeth left inside as one unlucky shop volunteer reached in and pulled out the surprise.
