Former Liverpool and Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has leaped to the defence of under-fire Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, insisting the club has moved in the right direction since he took over.
Solskjaer was installed as interim United boss in December 2018 following the departure of Jose Mourinho and landed the post on a full-time basis in January 2019.
United, at the time when Solskjaer first returned to the club, were sixth in the Premier League table and 11 points shy of the UEFA Champions League places.
But a run of just one defeat in his first 13 Premier League matches in charge saw him land the job permanently, at which time the club had moved to within two points of the top four.
