Perthshire -based TV actor Andy Gray, star of River City, has died at the age of 61. Andy, who was born in Perth, was best known for his role as Pete Galloway on the BBC Scotland soap.
The Perthshire -based star left River City in 2018 when he became ill with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndromes), a rare type of blood cancer which causes a person’s bone marrow to stop producing healthy blood cells.
The Perthshire Advertiser understands that Andy passed away at the weekend.He started acting at Perth Theatre in the 1970s.Moving later to TV roles, he was also known for his part as Chancer in the 1987 hit sitcom City Lights and also appeared in the sketch show Naked Video.Andy was also a well-known figure on the Scottish panto circuit.River City.
