Emiliano De Pablos Spain’s fast-growing TV production company Mediacrest is joining forces with Wanda Vision, one of the country’s top arthouse distributors-producers, on docu-filmmaker Gerardo Olivares’ project “Lonely Man.”The Mediacrest-Wanda deal will see Wanda Vision’s partners José María and Miguel Morales assuming co-producers roles, handling an undisclosed part of project distribution rights.“Lonely Man” represents Olivares’ return to the docu-fiction genre, a territory he already visited in two previous Wanda-produced projects, international sales hit “La Gran Final” and multi-prized feature “14 kilómetros.”Both titles allowed Olivares to introduce fictional elements that helped the stories to progress within a real environment

Film Constellation, transports us to the 9th century where Emma, a newly appointed abbess, is tasked with the formidable challenge of repopulating and revitalizing frontier lands on the edge of Muslim territorie,s at the bequest of her powerful family. The film was set up at Chavarrias’ Barcelona-based Oberon Cinematográfica with Wanda Visión, Icono 2020 AIE, and Saga Film. At the story’s center is Daniela Brown’s (“Días Mejores,”) portrayal of Emma, a young abbess whose divine conviction is matched only by her unyielding resolve.

French VFX firm The Yard, whose credits include Indiana Jones 5, Ford v Ferrari, Enola Holmes 2, Wanda Vision, John Wick 4 and upcoming spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One, has appointed Tom Fonvillars as head of its CG department.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent “Walls Can Talk,” the latest film by Spain Carlos Saura, director of “Raise Ravens,” “Deprisa, Deprisa” and “Carmen,” has been acquired for intentional sales by Madrid-based Latido.   Produced by María del Puy Alvarado at Malvalanda (“Madre,” “The Mole Agent”) and distributed in Spain by José Maria nd Miguel Morales’ Wanda Vision, “Walls Can Talk” will world premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival as an RTVE Gala.  The doc feature sees Saura conduct his own inquest into the origins of art, directing and for once starring in a film. In it, he visits masterpieces of paleolithic art– in Spain’s Altamira and El Castillo caves, for instance – and asks modern (Miquel Barceló) and graffiti artists and urban creators (Suso 33, Zeta, Musa71) about what drives them to paint. 

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared updates on several Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects during the Television Critics Association's winter tour.Feige, 47, offered an update on Deadpool 3, insisting that it will be an R-rated film, despite Marvel's parent company Disney rarely releasing R-rated fare (via Deadline).He also confirmed that the studio currently has no plans for a second season of the hit Disney Plus series Wanda Vision, with Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff character moving directly to Doctor Strange 2, though he didn't completely rule out another season in the future.
