UK weather: Storm Christoph batters and floods Brits as thousands of homes evacuated
dangerously rising water levels.2,000 properties in East Disbury, West Disbury and Northenden areas of Greater Manchester were part of the plans as Storm Christoph battered the UK with strong winds, snow and heavy downpours, the city council said.People were asked to leave their homes in parts of Ruthin and Bangor on Dee in North Wales, as well as Maghull in Merseyside.Heavy rain and snow continued to fall across England and Wales yesterday, and rivers banks were bursting with the excess rainwater.Many rivers were at "dangerously high levels", the Environemntal agency warned. Four 'severe' flood warnings were issued with 'danger to life' alerts, for the River Mersey at Disbury, Northenden and Maghull.
