Edinburgh shotgun killer was allegedly stabbed in a murder bid as he made his way home from the pub.James Bain, 55, was reportedly knifed in the capital’s Gilmerton area as he made his way home from a boozer around 1.45am on Saturday September 12.He suffered a serious injury and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.Police are treating the incident as an attempted murder.Detective Sergeant Steven Gray of Gayfield CID said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing into the attempted murder and officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the local area, and checking CCTV footage to gather more information.“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and
