An artist known for her work across numerous genres, the Brazilian star makes a return to reggaeton with “Romeo,” produced by Subelo NEO (Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrión, Mora). Just in time for Valentines Day, the sensual song was released Thursday with a music video that includes narration from Puerto Rican singer Lenny Tavárez.

Thania Garcia Shortly after Rebeca Léon stopped managing Rosalía in 2023, the team behind her Lionfish Entertainment company embarked on a six-month journey to building a boy band from scratch. Inspired by K-Pop’s high-performance dancing, combined with Latin music’s accelerated growth, Léon and her team approached over 500 Latin American boys until she found five that would make up DND, or Do Not Disturb. Early into this process, Léon mentioned these plans to Pharrell Williams, and “to my surprise, he had a similar dream,” Léon tells Variety.

Thania Garcia Rebeca León has been tapped as Anitta’s new manager, sources canconfirm to Variety. León is the CEO and founder of Lionfish Entertainment, an artist management and production company operating in the music, film, TV, and digital businesses. Representatives for Republic Records, Anitta’s new label, and León did not respond to requests for comment. Anitta was formerly managed by Brandon Silverstein, the founder/CEO of S10 Entertainment, who helped build the multi-lingual singer’s career in the United States. Just a few months ago, Léon amicably parted ways with her longtime client Rosalía, with whom she started a partnership in 2018. As a manager, she’s worked with numerous renowned Latin acts, including overseeing the fruitful career of Colombian superstar Juanes, and the emergence of J Balvin (they amicably split in 2019). Before Lionfish, León led Latin operations as senior VP for AEG/Goldenvoice.

Thania Garcia The Latin Recording Academy will honor the accomplishments of women working within the arts and Latin entertainment with a ceremony recognizing “The Leading Ladies of Entertainment.” After two years of virtual celebrations due to the pandemic, the event returns live in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Nov. 15, as part of Latin Grammy week. The inaugural event will recognize Puerto Rican singer/songwriter and six-time Latin Grammy-winner Kany García; Rocío Guerrero, global head of Latin at Amazon Music; Rosa Lagarrigue, founder and CEO of Spain’s RLM; and Janina Rosado, pianist, musical director, Juan Luis Guerra’s co-producer, and nine-time Latin Grammy-winner as “Leading Ladies” of 2022.

Fabio Acosta began his career in 2002, when he joined EMI Latin in Miami as an assistant to Lucas Piña, who at the time was the label's director of radio and promotion. From that platform, Acosta went on to launch his own independent radio promotion company, Akela Family Music."I worked with lots of artists, many number ones," he said.
