Rafael Nadal has taken his career prize money to a whopping £95.5million after coming through an Australian Open final epic against Daniil Medvedev.Nadal, who was competing in his sixth Australian Open final, fought back from two sets to nil down to defeat the Russian 3-2 at the Rod Laver Arena.The Spaniard came into the tournament having banked a cool £93.2million in career prize money from singles and doubles competitions combined.But victory over Medvedev, the 2021 US Open winner, earned him another £2.3million to take his overall total to £95.5million - only a few million short of the £100million mark.Medvedev, meanwhile, pocketed a not so shabby £1.2million for coming up short for the fourth time in a Grand Slam final.The Russian has now lost twice in the Australian Open final and once in the US Open final, although he did win in New York last year.But it wasn’t to be for Medvedev in his sixth Grand Slam showpiece as Nadal rolled back the years to produce a comeback for the ages.Medvedev dominated the opening proceedings and raced into a one set lead after winning the first set comfortably 6-2.Nadal fought back in the second and claimed a 5-3 advantage but was pegged back by Medvedev who forced a tie-break.The Spaniard was forced to halt his mid-service game midway through the set because of an intruder who made his way down from the stands and onto the court.Is Nadal the greatest tennis player of all-time?
