Illustrator George Perez has died.  The DC comics legend died of pancreatic cancer at his home with his wife by his side, according to a social media post shared by his longtime friend, Constance Eza. Perez was 67.

Experimenting with elements of jazz, funk and rock into his blues sound, he had collaborated with the likes of Paul Butterfield, Patti Smith, Canned Heat’s Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel, Jesse Ed Davis, Rick Vito, Freebo, and more.In 2005, Mayall was appointed as an OBE (Officer of the British Empire).

Happy Traum, a mainstay of the Greenwich Village folk scene of the early 1960s who recorded with Bob Dylan, died on Wednesday in Manhattan. He was 86.

David Bowie‘s hit ‘Young Americans’, who has died at the age of 78.It was confirmed on his official social media accounts that he had passed away on Sunday (May 12) from complications of prostate cancer. He had been diagnosed with the disease in 2018 but had continued performing until recently and had live appearances booked into 2025.“It is with sad and heavy hearts that we convey to you the loss of internationally renowned, 6 time Grammy Award-winning, saxophonist, David Sanborn,” read the statement.

Sam Lay was a legendary Chicago blues drummer who played with Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.  Sam Lay started drumming for the Original Thunderbirds and then became the drummer for blues harmonica legend Little Walter. He was the regular drummer for Chicago Blues icon Muddy Waters band in the early 1960s.
