But the Laundrie family simply say they were under no obligation to do anything for the Petitos.Patrick Reilly, the lawyer acting for Gabby’s parents, told a Sarasota County Circuit Court that he was shown the letter at an FBI regional office and he remembered details “including helping [Brian] get out of prison, getting a shovel and some other things.”Gabby is believed to have been killed some time in late August 2021, while she was on a road trip with her fiancé Brian.Her remains were found in a shallow grave in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest and an autopsy found that she had been bludgeoned and strangled to death.Before taking his own life, Brian wrote in a notebook confessing to killing the 22-year-old YouTuber.Laundrie claimed it was a mercy killing, saying he had killed his fiancée after she had fallen and injured herself: "I ended her life,” he wrote.
