K.J. Yossman Framestore has appointed Michael Stein its new chief technology officer.Stein joins from Walt Disney Imagineering, the corporation’s theme park design and technology arm, where he was director of the technology studio.At Framestore, an Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA-winning creative studio that has worked on “The Suicide Squad,” “No Time to Die” and “The Crown,” among other titles, Stein will oversee global strategy and R&D, which includes real-time machine learning and cloud-based technology.During his career, Stein has worked across VFX, games, animation and theme park rides, including attractions incorporation AR, VR and real-time, as well as a variety of tech-driven creative projects.

Michael Stein, one of Britney Spears‘ longtime dancers, died Dec. 23 at age 32. No cause or location has been given for the death, which just came to light today.

Jon Burlingame Some of today’s most talked-about film and TV composers walked off with Composers Choice Awards at Tuesday night’s annual Screen Music Awards of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) in West Hollywood. Michael Abels won Film Score of the Year for Jordan Peele’s sci-fi horror movie “Nope.” Cristobal Tapia de Veer and Kim Neundorf won Television Score of the Year for HBO’s black comedy “The White Lotus” And Bear McCreary won Video Game Score of the Year for Sony Interactive’s acclaimed “God of War: Ragnarok.” In a tie, Documentary Score of the Year went to both Amanda Jones for the National Geographic nature series “Super/Natural” and Jeff Cardoni for HBO Max’s skateboarding doc “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off.” Cristobal Tapia de Veer also won a second award for Television Theme of the Year for “The White Lotus.”

Twenty One Pilots have shared a mash-up of the Stranger Things theme tune and their 2016 song ‘Heathens’ – check out the performance below.The Ohio duo – comprising Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun – were playing a headline set at the Electric Castle festival in Romania last Friday (July 15) when they paid homage to the Netflix sci-fi series.To introduce their 19-track set, the band aired a montage of pivotal scenes from Stranger Things 4 on the big screen behind the stage. It showed Max (portrayed by Sadie Sink) being tormented by the sinister villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).The video was soundtracked by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein’s official theme tune for the show.
