Emmerdale's Louise Jameson has criticised the BBC for her character's exit from Doctor Who back in 1978, with a sweary rant. The actress, who is now best-known for her role as Mary Goskirk in the Dales after joining the soap early in 2022, expressed her disappointment at a recent BFI Southbank Doctor Who screening, saying of her character Leela's exit, "It was a c**p ending, wasn't it?" She continued: "I think she should have died saving the Doctor's life, something really heroic. Or you travel forward and she's got a football team of children.
